Love is in the Air (and not just in February)

Romance-Valentines Day

Romantic traditions, activities for that special Valentine’s Day and beyond.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s not too late to create a memorable day for that special someone. A box of chocolate, roses, and a dinner date are all traditional ways to show your love for those close to you.

But why not think outside the box and add something a little different, a little special?

Plan a romantic stroll along the docks of South Shore Harbour Marina at sunset and soak in the sights and sounds of life by the Bay. Before you leave, stop into the Lighthouse Bar & Bistro for a glass of wine or cocktail, “Salud!”

Speaking of romantic walks, experience the beauty of Helen’s Garden and take the opportunity to take a “selfie” to share with friends and family on social media. One of League City’s finest and coziest restaurant’s, Main St. Bistro, is located right next door but better call ahead the Bistro is normally booked solid even during non-holiday periods.

If you and your significant other both love the outdoors, why not plan a picnic along Clear Creek at one of League City’s several parks including Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside, Walter Hall Park, or the secluded Heritage Park located adjacent to Butler Longhorn Museum.

And though the Valentine’s Day Wine dinner at Paradise Reef located at South Shore Harbour Resort is sold out, you can still surprise your partner with a hand-made ticket to one of the hotel’s upcoming wine dinners being planned for April, June, August, and October of 2019.

Hey guys, this is also your opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and let the lady in your life introduce you to new experiences.

Take the day and set-up spa services and join her as she gets pampered. A couple’s massage, manicures, and pedicures at local establishments Tranquil Spa & Boutique or Bella Vita Day Spain the South Shore Harbour area, can help set the mood for a romantic evening.

For the artistic type, don’t miss out of the Valentine’s Couple Fondue Night at The Ceramic and Pottery Center. Couples will learn how to make jewelry with precious metal clay while snacking on luscious chocolate fondue while sipping on your favorite adult beverage that you bring with you.

For those that just can’t wait to pop the question, you can add the gazebo located in historic League Park as a backdrop for that most important of questions!

And for those looking to get married this Valentine’s Day, skip the justice of the peace and the stale courthouse and get married at the Butler's CourtyardThe award-winning venue is offering a 15-minute ceremony with one of their officiants and an expert wedding photographer for just $100.

So, whatever you decide to do or not to do, remember it’s about the experiences and memories that we keep and cherish well beyond that single day.
