Memorial Day officially kicks off the summer tourist season across the nation. League City is no exception. Either way, League City has plenty of places to cool off, relax, and explore this Memorial Day weekend.
The Oasis pool at South Shore Harbour Resort is a cool draw on a hot day. Whether you’re a water bug and like spending the day immersed in liquid or if you prefer sitting pool-side soaking up the rays with a cool drink from the swim up bar. From early regional settlers to the exploration of space, Bay Area Houston offers a wide variety of museums of interest. For those who have just an hour, consider visiting the Butler Longhorn Museum which chronicles the history of the Butler family and their efforts to save the longhorn cattle breed, or the West Bay Common School Museum, which gives a brief history of League City and what it was like to get an education in the early 1900’s. For those who look to the sky and have three or four hours to really explore, check out Space Center Houston and the Lone Star Flight Museum on the north side of Clear Lake.
Stay at the luxurious South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center and grab one of several golf packages to play on the private South Shore Harbour Golf Club course managed by Golfcorp. The 27-hole course, made up of three distinctive nines (South, Shore, and Harbour), was originally designed by Dave Marr and Jay Riviere.
From freshwater creeks, to the brackish waters of Clear Lake, and the saltwater life of Galveston Bay, League City and the Bay Area provide an amazing array of fishing opportunities.
